Junior Resources

On this page, you fill find resources specific to Junior level of hockey in New Brunswick.

In New Brunswick, Junior is regulated by the Hockey New Brunswick through the Junior Council and also through The MHL for Junior A.  For Junior level hockey you should make sure you are familiar with:

Remember that Hockey Canada’s rules are used as the base, HNB’s rules can increase or add further regulations and each league can further add. It’s important to make sure you’ve reviewed all applicable resources before getting on games.

 

Game Sheets 

Game sheets in Junior vary by the league. Some leagues use standard paper game sheets, others have moved to the Gamesheet Inc iPad app. 

If the league does use the iPad app please make sure after the game is complete you review the gamesheet closely before signing. There is an option within the app to email yourself a copy of the gamesheet should you need to submit a GIR. Do NOT submit GIRs through the gamesheet app.

Game Incident Reports (GIRs)

 

All Game Incident Reports (GIRs) for Junior hockey MUST be submitted through Goalline. Do NOT use spreadsheet/email for submitting these reports. They MUST be submitted within 24 hours of the game.

Yes - for Time differential penalties. Watch for the 5 exception Coach gets choice of side for face-off
Yes & Using HYBRID Icing
Yes - for icing and goaltender leaving the crease to potentially play the puck, NO ICING
Offending team cannot change. Face off always stays in Defensive end. See CJHL Bulletin.
Major plus Game Miscounduct - See Junior A Supplement
2 and 10, 5 and Game or Match - See Junior A Supplement
After regulation, teams go right into a 3 on 3 for a 5 min overtime
3 Player Shootout, visiting team to shoot 1st. If still tied, then 1/1 sudden death until winner. All players eligible except if serving GM or Misc.
