Meghan MacTavish and Madison Pendleton Selected To Officiate PWHPA Event

Hockey is for everyone, and we have been strongly encouraged in recent years to see the increased support for bringing more diversity to the sport we all love. But actions speak louder than words, and it’s time we take some action. The Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) Secret Dream Gap Tour is an action that is happening again this season. The PWHPA seeks to develop a sustainable professional women’s hockey league, enhance gender equity in sport, and inspire the future generations of young female hockey players to reach their dreams. Their showcase is coming to Truro, Nova Scotia, from November 12th – November 14th. This showcase is monumental, as it represents the first-ever female professional hockey event to be played in Atlantic Canada!

We are happy and proud to share with our NBHOA community that two officials who developed through our system will be hitting the ice in Truro for this showcase. To achieve this level of assignment speaks to their years of dedication, hard work and high-quality development of their officiating skills. Please join us in congratulating Meghan MacTavish from Zone 3, who has been selected to referee and Madison Pendleton, originally from Zone 5 (now attending university at St FX), to work the lines.

Help show your support to our officiating colleagues and professional women’s hockey by promoting the event to others and sharing the details on your social media to put your #stickintheground for female professional hockey! Watch this video https://youtu.be/VRye3u5a8tE
