2022 CIS National University Hockey Championships Assignments
Dan Hanoomansingh, Manager of Officiating for Hockey Canada, has Announced the Officiating Staff for the CIS National University Hockey Championships. Four NBHOA Officials have been selected to Officiate these National Championships.
Jillian Purcell
Jillian Purcell will represent the NBHOA in Charlottetown, PEI, from March 24th-March 27th for the CIS Female Championships. Originally from the Saint John Area Zone 4, Jill now lives and officiates out of the Moncton area in Zone 5. Jillian has progressed well as an official working at every level from U13AAA – AUS. She is mentoring young female officials who are new to officiating and is always willing to accept an assignment. She will be representing the NBHOA as a linesperson at the Championships.
Lucas Martin
Lucas Martin is a National High-Performance Official from Zone 5. Lucas was selected to officiate at the last CIS Championships in 2020 and only had a chance to officiate one game before the event’s cancellation due to COVID. I’m sure he is looking forward to completing the journey this year. Lucas has been selected as a referee.
Jason Bartlett
Jason Bartlett has been selected as a linesperson from Zone 3 and part of the Provincial High-Performance Program. He is dedicated to officiating and can be seen on the ice helping out from Minor Hockey to the AUS.
Kevin Fisher
Kevin Fisher is from Zone 5 and also part of the Provincial High-Performance Program. Kevin assisted in teaching this past summer as part of the Team Stripes/NBHOA summer officiating camps, continues to mentor some of these participants and has officiated everything from Minor Hockey to the AUS this season.
Lucas, Jason and Kevin will represent the NBHOA at the CIS Men’s Championships being held at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, from March 31st – April 3rd.
“I couldn’t be prouder of these Hockey Canada selections”, said NBHOA Referee in Chief Tim Skinner, “all four of these officials represent the core values of the NBHOA Officiating Program. They work all levels of hockey, give back to the program by mentoring and helping younger members, all while working a high level of hockey and achieving their own personal goals. I wish to congratulate them on their selections and wish them all luck at their respective National Championships.”.
