Hockey Heros Weekend 2022

Thanks to everybody that helped out for hockey heros weekend! Over 900k was raised and the officials were no small part of that. We were able to give away four free memberships for next year. Congratulations to Jon Trzop, Brandon Bourgeoise, Tyler Carnegie and Brett Eagles for winning the memberships.

On Sunday the tournament took a moment to acknowldge Guy Pellerin for his induction into the NB sports hall of fame, Guy in turn took a moment to acknowledge his nephew Jonathon Trzop and gift a game worn World Junior Championship jersey signed by all NHL players in attendance.

Jonathan is an Amateur official who officiates in Lewisville Minor Hockey Association and the Greater Moncton Officials Association and had hopes of one day to officiate in the QMJHL just like his uncle Guy. Unfortunately, Jonathan has recently been diagnosed with “Retinitis Pigmentosa” a degenerative eye disease that has started to affect his eye sight and will ultimately force Jonathan to give up his officiating career which he loves to do so much. Please join us in congratulating Jonathan who continues to maintain a positive outlook as he battles RP in hopes of some day finding a cure.
